In 15 villages Mobil health programme for Elders was implemented. By this
progamme 18750 Elders were benefited in Annavasal Block.
For the period of 10 years, 155 Elders were received rations, groceries, cloths
and medicines by Adopt A Granny programme.
10 Elders Self Help Groups formed for the benefited of the family members
through income generation activities by Sponsor A Grand Parent programme.
1775 Elders in the Old Age Home were given food, shelter, accommodation
medicine and recreation by MSJE New Delhi.
We were providing lunch, medicine and recreation for 2500 Elders in the Day
Care Centres for the support of Central Government.
20 Elders were receiving revolving fund for income generation activities.
Programme for Women:
Formation and strengthening of 550 Self Help Groups in Four Blocks of Pudukkottai District namely Annavasal, Viralimalai, Pudukkottai and Gandarvakottai. Total savings of Rs. 2,640,000/-and internal lending was Rs.
12,512,416/. 400 Self Help Groups got Animators and Representative Training Programme given under the Mahalir Thittam of Pudukkotai District. Entrepreneurs Development Programme was also given to these Self Help Groups.
220 Women were rehabilitated through counseling under Short Stay Home at Pudukkottai. They are free from Child marriage, abuses, violence and distress from the family members. They were provided income Generation activities like
greeting card production, tailoring, thread weaving and toys making. Their children also benefited by Nutrition, Health & Education
Peer Education Groups have been formed on HIV/AIDS in 50 Villages of Rameswaram Block, Ramanathapuram District. Counselling and Referral Services were provided for these villagers.
Aids and Appliances were Provided to 200 Handicapped women in Pudukkottai, Sivakangai, Dindugal and Tiruchy Districts of Tamilnadu State.
Special Programmes
Provided protected Drinking water through Bore well Hand pumps in 100 villages
in 3 Blocks namely Annavasal, Viralimalai and Kunnandar Kovil of Pudukkottai District
A Ground Level Storage Reservoir was constructed in 5 villages in Annavasal
Block.
3 Ponds were desilted and the infiltration well were dug.
750 Latrines were constructed in 50 villages of Pudukottai District.
160 Houses constructed and provided to the rural poor of 5 Villages.
410 Elders from the vulnerable Group of poor community benefited through
Counselling, shelter, Cloths, Nutrition & Health care by the Old Age Home.
2305 Elders benefited through Counselling, Nutrition & Health care by the Day Care Centre of the Aged.
Mobile Health Programme for all the people in 20 rural villages especially Elders
are benefitted.
55 Elders were benefitted by providing rations every month. 30 Elders were benefitted through cataract operation.
10 Elders Self Help Group have been formed. In 15 Villages 23 Farmers Self Help Group have been formed in Viralimalai Block
of Pudukkottai District. Grama Suyaraj is selected from the State Commissioner for Disabled programme
for Rehabilitation of persons with disabilities Scheme. Sustainable Agricultural Activities has been carried on 85 acres of land in the dry
land region of Pudukkottai District.
Greeting card and Gift articles unit first started at Chithupatty from Annavasal
Block of Pudukkottai District and later on all Blocks of Pudukkottai. 3200 youth
(women) children were trained in skill training Greeting card Programme in All
India Level. This Programme created and identified as a viable skill for the uplift
of rural poor (including illiterates) way back in 1987 by V.R. Annathurai and
A.Bala. Idea originated on observing designs on pillow covers, sarees and
curtains. Flowers, X- Mas tree, Birds, Gods and Animals etc. are embroidered to
suit X – Mas, New year, Deepavali, Holi, Birth day, & Wedding Day. Greeting
card and Gift articles unit first started at Chithupatty from Annavasal Block of
Pudukkottai District and later on
Grama Suyaraj means Village Self Governance (a dream of Mahatma
Gandhi). With it as its name a Society was established.
